Fireworks

There's a fireworks competition held here every July. Here are a few shots:

It took quite a few tries to capture the moon so clearly... I wasn't using a tripod!

Last night I went to see the Philadelphia Orchestra at SPAC. They put on a great show of Tchaikovsky's works, including Swan Lake and the 1812 Overture - complete with cannon fire!

The performance was followed by some beautiful fireworks.




















I had never tried to photograph fireworks, before, and the secret seems to be to anticipate the shot, and open your shutter before the actual "explosion". Before I got the hang of this, I took several photos that came out all black. :)

July 4th weekend

For 4th of July weekend, Neuro's friend Scot invited us to his camp on Sacandaga Lake.

He let us ride on his Ski Do's, and we also got to cruise around the lake on Neuro's brother Pete's boat. We did some tubing and even attempted water skiing (ouch!). The weather was perfect, and we had a great time.
