don't mind the colors...
I'm in the process of working on a "blog-makeover," so don't mind the colors for now, ok? >^..^<

Some photos from tonight's bike ride.

lost comments!
Well, I installed Haloscan on my blog so I could track my comments more easily, and it erased all of the comments to date! How disappointing!

Prospect Mountain hike
We climbed Prospect Mountain on Sunday June 10th (2005). Here are some of my photos from the hike:

the trail starts here...

a long walk over the highway to get to the mountain

Saturday's rain made for a slick climb in places

although not everybody minded!

I put my finger right on this slimy slug before I saw him.

orange mushroom

a felled tree

goldenrod growing behind a rock

it was pretty steep in places (Neuro on the trail)

but the view from the top was definitely worth it.

biking
Neuro and I got new mountain bikes this summer and I am already addicted. I've been riding 4 or 5 times a week at a minimum. I am fortunate to have access to some great trails only about a block from my house.

the bike path runs alongside this canal
We have encountered all sorts of critters in our travels... here are a few that held still long enough to let me snap some photos:

snapping turtle

caterpillar - a luna moth to be, perhaps?

butterfly - Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
